Hi,

There is consortium building going on with an AfNOG initiated proposal for a
sponsored TLD for a sponsored TLD for African interests. The proposal is for
a not-for-profit company to be registered under the name dotAfrica Limited
in a location. It is proposed to use the domain dotAfrica.org for the
organization. Members to include AfNOG, AfriNIC, AfTLD, (Pan African ICT
Associations, African Businesses, African Union, etc. It proposes that the
Board of the dotAfrica be elected by members however the Policy Advisory
Committee Chairperson be appointed by AU. Target 100,000 "name.africa" or
"nom.afrique" in near term. Use a contract with an experienced Regional
Operator initially.

The consortium would be interested in your concepts for:

o membership
o bottomup policy & oversight
o registrar relationships with ccTLDs (AfTLD)
o relationship with dotAsia
etc.....this is Pierre O coordination
