Dear Mr. Badiel,

 

Anne-Rachel Inne recommended that I email you to invite participation from
AfTLD in the joint advisory group of gTLDs and ccTLD representatives.
ICANN's registry failover project (see
http://www.icann.org/announcements/announcement-4-01jun07.htm
and
http://www.icann.org/registries/reports/registry-failover-01jun07.htm)
recommended the formation of a small group of gTLD and ccTLD representatives
that could provide advice to ICANN in the event that a registry suffers a
technical, business or financial failure. The project is for gTLD
registries, but we are trying to learn from ccTLD experiences to improve the
effectiveness of the failover plan.

 

CENTR nominated a representative to the advisory group in San Juan, and we
are looking for 1 member from each of the ICANN regions. If you know of
anyone in AfTLD that would be interested, please let me know.
