This is an update to the group on the ICANN gTLD Registry Failover
Exercise conducted 24-25 January 2008. Attached is an After Action Report
describing the exercise and the scenarios followed.

ICANN staff is continuing to improve the draft gTLD Registry Failover
Plan. Staff met with gTLD registry representatives in Crystal City,
Virginia on Monday 7 April to discuss data transition elements and data
escrow as part of an on-going collaborative dialog for the registry
failover project. I anticipate further improvements to the draft plan,
although for the moment the version sent to group dated 5 February 2008
continues to be the current draft.

I want to thank Michael Young (Afilias), Pat Kane (VeriSign) and Rick
Wilhelm (NeuStar) for participating from this group in the meeting.
Representatives from PIR, mTLD and Iron Mountain were also in attendance.
I anticipate continued collaboration for the rest of April to Paris.
